Normal/Actual comparison module of VGStudio and Pointmaster are capable of similar process when it comes to comparing objects extracted from three-dimensional images obtained from 3D image capturing devices. Following are the similarities and differences of the two software.

Procefures for featuring
  1. 3D image is loaded to VGStudio MAX
  2. 3D image file or CAD data in STL format that user wishes to compare is loaded.
  3. Coordinates of the objects are adjusted.
  4. A report file is exported after comparison.

  3. PointMaster is started, and STL file that originates from 3D image and CAD data in STL format are loaded.
  4. Adjustment of the coordinate of objects.
  5. The shapes are compared, and a report is exported.
Difference in procedures Comparison can be made without transformation of 3D images 3D images must be converted to a polygon and saved as STL file.
位置合わせ ベストフィットによる単純な位置合わせは、形状比較モジュールだけでできるが、基準形状に基づく位置合わせを行いたい場合は、三次元計測モジュールも別途、必要。操作はやや練習を要する。 ベストフィット、基準形状に基づく位置合わせともに柔軟に対応できる。操作も簡単。

形状に対する適性

Even if the resolution of the images are bad, shapes can be compared because they do not become polygon.

If the resoluiton of images is bad,images contains lots of noise, or converting them is trouble some,VGStudio the better.
ポリゴンデータや点群データの取り扱い STL files is only for comparison purposes. The data cannot be edited nor processed. Reverse engineering functions such as Inteconversion between PointCloud and polygon, fixation, and CAD conversion.
Converting into CAD No function to convert 形状データ into CAD Surface is pasted on a polygon, which is exported as an IGES file. The procedure is bit time-consuming and need labour.
