64bit Solution
3D images captureing device such as X-ray CT scanner and confocal laser scanning microscopy are being developed day by day. However, the images obtained are becoming bigger and bigger as the resolution and the quality are enhanced. Shown below are the examples of the sizes of the data having corresponding number of segment images along each axis
・8bit× 512× 512×200 slides＝50MB
・16bit×1024×1024×500 slides＝1GB
・16bit×2048×2048×500 slides＝4GB
PC equipped with 32 bit processors such as Intel Pentium 4 can only operate with up to 4 GB memory,with a single application capable of occupying up to 2 GB. In such operating environment, the spec of the computer limits the quality of data that it can deal with. NVS also sells 64 bit computers that fulfill the operating requirement of our software.
We recommend 64 bit environment when 3D images of more than 1GB is treated.
Computers with 64bit CPU can possess more than 4GB memory4GB, which enables high-speed 3D images processing without sacrificing the resolution of data.
